WEATHER UPDATES

At Golden State Grind, we don’t play weatherman—but we do keep a close eye on the forecast. In the event of inclement weather, we will monitor conditions in real time and do our best to adjust around the weather. On the rare occasion that we need to cancel, we’ll provide a comparable credit toward a future camp. For additional questions about inclement weather, feel free to contact us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com.

HOT WEATHER

We understand that summer days can get very hot, and we prioritize the safety and comfort of all players. On hot days, we take frequent water and shade breaks to ensure everyone stays hydrated and cool. Common sense is key, and we remain vigilant in monitoring the campers’ well-being throughout the day. In addition to water and shade, we provide sunscreen stations at all our camps, with scheduled breaks to apply sunscreen as needed to protect players from the sun.

To date, we have never had a camper taken to the hospital for heat-related issues. We work hard to maintain a safe environment, and with your help—by sending your child with a large water bottle each day—we can ensure that everyone stays healthy and comfortable while enjoying camp.

CAMP DURATION AND HOURS

We offer a variety of camp options, including 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day camps, with daily rate options available. All camps run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. To ensure a smooth check-in process, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early on the first day. For the remaining days, please aim to arrive 5–10 minutes before the camp start time. This will help us begin each day promptly and keep things on track.

Since our staff often has other commitments, such as workouts or games, after camp, we ask that you pick up your child on time. If you're running late, please text us at 925-276-2207, providing your child’s name and an estimated pick-up time. Your cooperation helps us maintain a smooth and efficient camp experience for all. Thank you!

TYPICAL CAMP SCHEDULE

The camp day begins with morning skill stations, where players are divided into age groups and focus on fundamental skill development. These stations may include competitive drills designed to reinforce the skills being taught, with the opportunity to earn prizes and awards. Water breaks are taken periodically throughout the morning, and during these breaks, baseball stories are shared to inspire and engage the players.

Lunch time is in the middle of the camp day, providing a chance for players to recharge.

The afternoon session is filled with excitement, featuring games, competitions, and a home run derby. Players will compete throughout the afternoon, working towards the ultimate goal: winning the Grind Wiffle Ball World Series final game at the end of the day. It’s a fun and competitive way to wrap up a day of skill-building and team spirit!

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL PLAYER ATTENDANCE

Baseball and softball players are always welcome and regularly attend both our baseball and softball camps. We encourage players to invite a friend so they can work on fundamental drills together and have a practice partner to reinforce new skills at home. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and improve side by side!

ESSENTIAL CHECKLIST

To ensure you're fully prepared for camp, practice, or game day, here's a comprehensive list of must-have baseball essentials:

Baseball Equipment

  1. Bat – Choosing the right bat for your size and skill level is crucial. It enhances your hitting performance and boosts confidence at the plate.
  2. Helmet – Safety first! A well-fitted helmet protects your head from stray balls or accidental collisions.
  3. Baseball/Softball Mitt – A properly broken-in glove, customized to your hand, makes catching and fielding smoother and more effective.
  4. Catcher's Gear (if applicable) – If you’re a catcher, don’t forget your mask, chest protector, leg guards, and catcher’s mitt for full protection behind the plate.
  5. Turf Shoes & Cleats – Cleats provide traction on the field, while turf shoes or sneakers are perfect for off-field activities.

Clothing

  1. Baseball/Softball Pants – Essential for sliding and providing comfort and protection throughout play.
  2. Warm-Up Jacket – Stay warm during cooler mornings or evenings.
  3. T-Shirt – Lightweight and breathable for practices or casual wear.
  4. Shorts – Great for warm-ups or off-field time.
  5. Baseball Hat or Softball Visor – Shield your eyes from the sun, reduce glare, and show off your team spirit.

Health & Safety

  1. Protective Cup (for Male Players) – A must-have to prevent injuries in sensitive areas.
  2. Sanitizer – Keep your hands germ-free in group settings to maintain good health.
  3. Sunscreen – Protect your skin from harmful UV rays during long hours under the sun.

Food & Hydration

  1. Big Water Bottle – Staying hydrated is vital for peak performance. Bring a large water bottle to stay refreshed all day.
  2. Lunch – Pack a nutritious, balanced meal to fuel your energy for the day.
  3. Snack – Keep healthy snacks on hand to maintain steady energy levels and sharp focus.

Bag & Extras

  1. Small Gym Bag or Backpack – Organize all your gear in one place for easy transport.
  2. Other Essentials – Depending on your needs, consider bringing batting gloves, a sweat towel, extra socks, or even an extra uniform piece.

Being well-prepared ensures you can focus on your game and perform your best. Double-check your gear before heading out to make every practice or game a success!

STAFF

Our coaching staff at Golden State Grind is composed of experienced professionals from all levels of the game, including high school coaches, current and former collegiate players, and coaches with diverse skill sets. Each member of our staff undergoes a rigorous screening process to ensure the highest standards of coaching and mentorship.

What sets us apart is our commitment to hiring and training high school and college-level coaches and players, giving our program a unique edge. While many local youth and travel team coaches may have a foundational understanding of the game, our players receive actionable, high-level instruction from handpicked and thoroughly trained instructors.

We carefully select our staff to guarantee each coach brings not only expertise but also a passion for teaching the game. This allows young players to gain valuable insights, build confidence, and improve their skills both on and off the field. At Golden State Grind, we are committed to providing expert guidance and fostering a supportive learning environment, where each player receives the attention and coaching needed to reach their full potential.

PLAYER TO COACH RATIO

At our camps, we maintain a 6:1 player-to-coach ratio to ensure personalized attention and high-quality instruction. While last-minute sign-ups may slightly affect this ratio, rest assured, it will not compromise the integrity of the camp or the quality of coaching. We are committed to providing you with the best possible instruction and go out of our way to deliver an exceptional experience.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

Each adult instructor has passed a background check.

PARENT ATTENDANCE

We are thrilled to welcome parents to watch any and all days of camp! In fact, we strongly encourage it. Many parents find the talks we provide—particularly those focused on the mental game—insightful and applicable not just to baseball but to life in general. You are welcome to come and go as you please throughout the camp.

However, we also understand that every player is different. You know your athlete best. Some players thrive when dropped off and given the space to focus independently. Our approach is designed to help players develop confidence and resilience by minimizing potential distractions during camp.

For example, players who previously glanced over their shoulders for reassurance from a parent can now focus fully on the ball. Those who may have run to a parent when things didn’t go as planned are now learning to self-overcome, building problem-solving skills and independence.

Our ultimate goal is to provide an environment where players can grow, improve, and gain confidence both on and off the field. We appreciate your support in helping us create that space!

LATE ARRIVAL/LEAVE EARLY

Players are welcome to arrive late or leave early as needed. While there's a lot of valuable information and training at camp, we understand that schedules can conflict. Many parents and players have shared that, even if they miss part of the session, it’s still worthwhile to attend any portion they can. When you arrive, simply drop off your gear and join the group. If you need to leave early, kindly excuse yourself from the group and head out. We appreciate it if you can notify us of your plans ahead of time by emailing us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com.

Note: If leaving early, players and parents are responsible for keeping track of time and departing accordingly. Grind staff will not remind players when it's time to leave. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

SKILL LEVEL

We welcome all levels of experience from first-time ballplayers to travel team players. At Golden State Grind, players are evaluated by our experienced camp staff and grouped based on both age and ability to ensure they receive the most effective and tailored training. Our camps are designed as general skills camps, where players will receive well-rounded development across all aspects of the game.

In addition to general skills training, players will also participate in position-specific coaching, allowing them to focus on the key skills that will help them excel in their chosen position. Whether you’re working on hitting, pitching, or fielding, our camps provide comprehensive instruction to help players at every level improve. Our camps are suitable for players of all skill levels, unless otherwise specified. Players will initially be grouped by age and then reassigned to different skill groups if needed, based on their individual abilities. For first-time baseball players, this camp is a great opportunity to learn the game and gain valuable experience before trying out for a local team.

INEXPERIENCED PLAYERS

At Golden State Grind Camps, we emphasize a culture of positive energy and teamwork. We believe that when players support and encourage each other, it creates an environment where even new or less experienced players feel comfortable and welcomed.

Our hand-picked coaching staff is trained to work with each player at their individual ability level, not just their age level. This personalized approach helps every player feel challenged yet supported, fostering confidence and a sense of progress throughout the camp. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, you’ll leave feeling encouraged and proud of your improvement.

EXPERIENCED PLAYERS

For our more experienced players, Golden State Grind Baseball Camps offers an elite training experience designed to elevate your game. Our elite camp blueprint and volume-based repetitions provide each player with the opportunity to sharpen their skills and push their limits.

At Grind Camps, we offer 6 hours of focused practice, games, and competitions every day, all within a dream baseball environment. Players will not only improve but also have the chance to win prizes and awards, adding an extra level of excitement and motivation. Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your skills or challenge yourself, this is the perfect place to take your game to the next level.

MULTIPLE SIBLINGS DISCOUNT

We offer discounts for two or more siblings attending the same camp. Discount amounts vary depending on the event. For more information and to receive your discount, please email us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com.

FULL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL TEAM DISCOUNT

Special pricing is available for teams registering together. If you're interested in registering as a full team, please contact us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com with your team details, and we’ll assist you with the registration process.

PRIVATE LESSONS

We also offer private instruction tailored to individual needs. If you're interested in private training, please reach out to us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com to discuss your goals and schedule.

RESTROOM POLICY

When a camper needs to use the restroom, we ensure that at least one adult and one player accompany them. Adult coaches will wait outside the restroom while campers use the facilities, maintaining privacy and safety at all times. This policy is in place to ensure both the well-being of the campers and a secure environment.

LOST AND FOUND POLICY

At Golden State Grind, we strive to keep your child's belongings safe and organized. However, we understand that items may occasionally get misplaced during camp. To help with lost and found, we ask that you label all personal items, including water bottles, clothing, and equipment, with your child's name. At the end of each day, any found items will be collected and placed in a designated lost and found area. We encourage parents to check the lost and found section at pick-up if their child is missing anything.

Please note: After the camp concludes, all unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of. We do our best to ensure nothing is lost, but we are not responsible for missing items. We recommend that valuable or easily lost items (like electronics or expensive gear) be left at home.

Thank you for helping us maintain an organized and efficient camp experience for all!

REFUND POLICIES

At Golden State Grind, we understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. Our goal is to ensure fairness while maintaining the integrity of our programs. Below is our refund and credit policy:

Transfer Policy

Players may transfer to a different camp, provided there is availability. To request a transfer, please contact us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com. We will assist you with finding an alternative camp session.

Cancellations in Advance

If you notify us at least 7 days prior to the start of the camp or program, you are eligible for a full credit towards a future camp or program of equal value.

Last-Minute Cancellations

For cancellations made less than 7 days before the camp or program, a partial credit (75% of the total fee) will be issued to be applied toward a future camp.

No-Show Policy

Unfortunately, no credits or refunds will be issued for no-shows or cancellations made after the camp has already begun.

Weather Cancellations

In the rare event that a camp or program is canceled due to inclement weather, we will issue a comparable credit towards another camp or program of your choice.

Absence Policy

We do not offer prorations for absences, except in cases of injury that prevent a camper from completing a session. In such cases, we handle refunds on a case-by-case basis, and decisions are made at the sole discretion of Golden State Grind.

Special Circumstances

We understand that emergencies happen. Please contact us at goldenstategrind@gmail.com to discuss your situation, and we will do our best to accommodate you fairly.

All credits must be used within 12 months of issuance. Credits are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to deliver the best experience for our athletes!

SAFETY

The safety of our players is our top priority. Before the start of camp and throughout the week, players will be briefed on the safety expectations to ensure a secure environment for all participants. If a player requires repeated reminders or displays behavior that may pose a risk to others, we will notify the player's parents by phone or email. In extreme cases, we may ask that the player no longer attend camp. Please note, if a player is asked to leave for safety reasons, there will be no refund (full or partial).

GENERAL BEHAVIOR POLICY

We expect all players to be respectful towards coaches and fellow players. While incidents are rare, repeated violations of our behavior policy may result in suspension or dismissal from camp. If this occurs, no refunds will be provided. Our goal is to maintain a positive and supportive environment for every player.
